Former capital of Menorca, renewed after the Turkish invasion in 1558, offers tourists many monuments and interesting buildings from ancient times.

It is nice to take a walk along the streets of Ciutadella especially in the historic part. You can visit the Catalan Cathedral (the only one that was not destroyed during the attack of the Turks), go to Placa des Born with the famous obelisk reminiscent of the Turkish attack and see the church of Sant Francesco.

If we are on Menorca at the end of March we must visit Ciutadella on the 23rd of June. Then there is the famous Festa Sant Joan where horse-riding parades across the city and horse races are taking place.
