La Savina is the main port of Formentera. Formentera is one of the least inhabited islands of the Balearic Islands. Its main advantage is a relatively small number of tourists as well as beautiful sandy beaches and azure coves, which altogether make it a truly fairy-tale village.
Formentera is a flat 18 km long and 2 km wide island. Its name comes from Frumentarii (Island with Wheat) and was given by the Romans. You can get to the island by yacht or ferry cruising to La Savina port.
The port of La Savina does not have much to offer. However, from there you can get by scooter, bike or a car to other places, such as: Es Pujols where in the summer beachparties take place, Sant Francesc Francesc Xavier – the capital of Formentera with a defensive church that was protecting against pirates and to the Ethnographic Museum. Next to La Savina there are 2 lagoons. There is a fishing port in one of them.
The best place to moor the yacht is the bay by the harbour. Formentera's main advantages are beautiful sandy beaches with azure waters. The best lagoon in this area is in the southern part of Espalmador which is close to Formentera.
