Although many yachts anchor in Porto Cisto the town is not the main attraction of the region. The main destination are the nearby caves Cuevas del Drach which delight with their size and beauty.
Cuevas del Drach (Dragon Caves) are 177 meters high and 230 meters wide caves. There are four caves connected to each other (Black Cave, White Cave, Cave of Luis Salvador and Cave of the French). There is an underground lake Martel inside the caves. It is considered one of the largest cave lakes in the world. You can visit the caves delighting at the same time with concerts of Chopin or Offenbach. The sounds in the underground chambers make a powerful impression. A trip through the caves takes about an hour and the visitors walk along paths and stairs at the distance of about 1200 meters and are also taken on a short boat trip on the underwater lake.
The underground lake and its lighting really make a big impression on the visitors.
Practical hints: Remember that weather conditions can change rapidly as the the marina is quite exposed to the winds.
